Since 1985, the unlawfully incarcerated Kevin Cooper has been on death row in San Quentin prison. He has recently been subject to further harassment and psychological abuse in prison.
In June 2018, Peace and Freedom Party passed a resolution in support of Cooper’s case, and today we’re asking you to consider signing a Change.org petition supporting Kevin’s grievance against an example of one prison guard’s flagrant abuse of authority.
From the petition:
Kevin Cooper has served over 34 years at San Quentin, fighting for exoneration from the conviction for murders he did not commit. It is unconscionable for him to be treated so disrespectfully by prison staff on top of the years of his incarceration.
No guard should work at San Quentin if they cannot treat prisoners and their personal belongings with basic courtesy and respect. Kevin has filed a grievance against [the prison guard identified as] A. Young.
Please support Kevin Cooper’s right to dignity and fair treatment, and sign the Change.org petition.
