On January 14, 2026, hundreds of people came to the State Capitol in Sacramento to attend a press conference, a rally, and to lobby state legislators. Organized by the Fight For Our Health Coalition, a coalition of seniors, people with disabilities, healthcare workers, caregivers, veterans, and advocates for children. With the passage of H.R. 1, billions of dollars that usually go to states for healthcare, education, housing, and transportation were slashed from the budget. The coalition urged legislators to stand with those who would be affected by these cuts. The asks were simple:
- Don't cut these programs
- Find new sources of funding
- Finally, keep in contact with us as we move through the process
