Joint Statement of the Peace and Freedom Party and the Green Party

April 7th, 2026

The list of candidates is set, the campaign is underway, and the Peace and Freedom Party and the Green Party of California reaffirm that they fully support the Left Unity Slate of candidates for statewide office in California's June primary election:  Alice Stek for Lieutenant Governor, Gary N. Blenner for Secretary of State, Meghann Adams for Controller, Glenn Turner for Treasurer, Marjorie Mikels for Attorney General, Eduardo "Lalo" Vargas for Insurance Commissioner, and Frank Lara for Superintendent of Public Instruction.  Every vote cast for them will be an effective action to push for the needs of the people, and an effective act of resistance to the billionaires.  In the June primary election, we urge all Californians to vote for the Left Unity Slate.

In California, voter registration is very important to political parties. The very existence of a political party as “ballot-qualified” is determined by the number of votes its statewide candidates receive or by the number of voters registered with the party. As the only feminist socialist political party on the California ballot, it is imperative that the Peace and Freedom Party continues as a qualified party.

Quite simply, the Peace and Freedom Party will not be able to provide Californians with candidates that will represent us unless we register and vote Peace and Freedom.
