Peace & Freedom Party’s co-sponsored Suds, Snacks & Socialism monthly forum series continues in online form via Zoom meeting on Saturday, May 7, entitled World Workers Rising.

In this post-May Day forum, the current state of labor organizing in the US and abroad is explored. Speakers will discuss recent victories, new leadership, unionization of traditionally marginalized workers, and how this trend is related to the fight for Socialism.

Guest speakers include:

  • David Bacon, photojournalist, author, political activist and union organizer;
  • Barry Eidlin, Assistant Professor of Sociology at McGill University and author of Labor and the Class Idea in the United States and Canada; and
  • Joe Thompson, who successfully helped organize the first Starbucks union in California.

The program will start promptly at 2:30pm PT and is expected to wrap up by 4:30pm. To join the forum, click here or write This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for login instructions.
